Fill Out The Application Form

Give us a brief background about your company by answering a few questions. All information submitted will be kept strictly confidential with the Technical and Judging Committees.

Don’t Miss The Deadline

The deadline for submission of application forms is on 5th October 2019.

Evaluation Process

The first round of evaluation will be supervised by the Technical Committee. The evaluation will be done using clearly defined criteria. Shortlisted applicants will be presented to the jury panel, then they will select the winners.

And You’re Done!

The evaluation process is concluded and the Award winners for each category will be announced at the Award Ceremony.

The nominated business MUST:

  • Be based in Bahrain
  • Have a Commerical Registration (except micro-enterprise category)
  • Have at least one Bahraini as key member of the founder and/or management team (e.g. CEO, CTO, owner of intellectual property, etc.)
  • Possess audited financial records for each year of operation (excl. Micro-enterprise, Start-ups)

The nominated business MUST NOT:

  • Be a franchise (however franchisors are eligible), co-operative company, or non-profit society or non-government organization
  • Be a listed company – with the exception of the Sustainable Business Award category. Be owned by the government in part or whole (BDB funding not reason for exclusion)
  • Be a supplier or a sponsor of the Award
  • Employees or 1 st degree relatives involved in the judging or organization of the Awards

Definitions


Enterprises

A. Small Enterprises

  • All sectors: Up to 50 employees & up to BD 0.5 million annual turnover
  • Construction: Up to 100 employees & up to BD 0.5 million annual turnover

B. Medium Enterprises

  • All sectors: Up to 250 employees & BD0.5 – 5 million annual turnover
  • Construction: Up to 400 employees & BD0.5 – 5 million annual turnover

C. Large Enterprises

  • All sectors: More than 250 employees & more than BD5 million annual turnover

Franchisee

A business that has been granted a license to access another business’s (the franchisor) proprietary knowledge, processes & trademarks to allow the franchisee to sell a product or provide a service under the business’s name.

Sales

Sales revenues (sometimes referred to as turnover) as stated in the audited financial statements for the full year.

Net Income

Net Income (sometimes referred to as Net profit) as stated in the audited financial statements for the full year.

Number of Employees

Total number of employees at year-end for the company including all subsidiary companies.

Spending on Training Expenditure

Total expenditures spent towards the training of employees and personnel for the full year.

Spending on Research & Development

Total expenditures spent towards research & development e.g., for products, innovation, patents, etc. for the full year.
